A small Sheraton inlaid mahogany writing cabinet. The glazed top having a cornice with centre satinwood panel above a single glazed door which opens to reveal a fitted interior with its original old velvet lining and an inlaid shaped shelf made to display objects. The base with a cylinder front with centre satinwood panel which opens to reveal an interior with satinwood drawers and pullout writing slide also crossbanded in satinwood with original old green base lining. There are two frieze drawers and the cabinet stands on inlaid square tapering legs with brass castors. An elegant but useful little piece of furniture. English Circa 1820.
