An early 19th century French satinwood fall front escritoire. The top with veneered satinwood and rosewood panels above a single drawer with original brass handles. The fall front ,with centre lacquer panel and fine inlay, opening to reveal an interior with shelves, drawers and centre rising door above the writing surface which retains its original green baize inset.. The doors in the base open to reveal an interior single shelf and the cabinet has canted corners with fine inlaid decoration , the ends with parquetry inlaid panels, all standing on square tapering legs with brass ball feet.Fine original colour and patina, a useful piece of furniture, the writing height is 30ins and the depth with the fall down is 36 ins. Probably French, Circa 1820.
