A Charles II oak coffer. The panelled lid with it's original hinges opening to reveal a candle box with secret drawer underneath. The frieze carved with flowers with centre lock plate and dated 66 (1666) with the lettering RI on either side , this most likely being a marriage chest. Three carved panels with circular decoration, all standing on good wide tall stiles. Good colour and patina , and in nice original condition throughout. English 1666.
