Georgian mahogany writing table.

A Geo III mahogany writing table, the crossbanded top with boxwood edging, retaining it's original tooled leather writing surface . The two shallow fitted drawers(dummies to the reverse side) have small decorated brass knobs and are lined with yellow silk which could even be original, above shaped end supports strung with boxwood and gilded mouldings, all standing on splay legs with brass castors. A useful table that is only shallow in depth at 19ins and would fit well behind a sofa or indeed freestanding.English Circa 1820.
