A Charles II oak child's chair, the turned legs united by stretchers, original seat(11ins tall),it has the initials WC and WG inside the left arm and DG carved into the back seat rail. The chair was formerly the property of The Earl of Powis,Lymore Hall ,Montgomery,a fine Elizabethan manor house purchased in the 1920's by Fred Anderson, his son David sat in this chair whenever he could get his elder sister Joan out of it !Thence by descent to me!The chair is good colour and patina, there is an old repair at the top of the left leg where it goes into rail, the right arm has been strengthened at the back by a tenon but basically the chair is in great condition for one made Circa 1685.
