A small Chippendale mahogany architect's desk.The top with shallow gallery above a sloping lid with possibly the original green baize.The desk has a waist mould with crisp gadroon carving above two shallow drawers and stands on four square legs, chamferred on the inside, and has leather barrel castors.The table has finely carved pierced corner brackets of exceptional quality.the back is polished making the desk free standing and easily moved,the lid lifts to reveal a plain interior.A fine quality small desk ,original colour and patina ,with top class carving.The height of the kneehole is 29ins,the table was made to stand at but one could use a tall stool if needing to sit at it.English Circa 1770.
