A 19th century carved wood torchere with the original paint,featuring two putti seated by the trunk of a tree below branches with carved birds and a nest, finishing with a well shaped top..Good carving and in sound condition throughout,there are one or two chips off the end of the branches .A decorative piece of furniture that athough retaining it's original paint would also look good gilded.Probably Continental Circa 1830.
